Knotty Pine Oil Co. and B&P Propane | Customer Story

Located in Holton, Kansas, Knotty Pine/B&P Propane started with a simple mission: to serve the small communities around them and keep them moving forward. What started as a small operation quickly grew to become a trusted provider of fuel, propane, gasoline, and lubricants. Today they continue to serve families, farms, and businesses all around Northeast Kansas. 

Starting in 1942, Brett's Grandfather opened a truck stop on old 75, where the office still stands today. Seeing the needs of the customers, he quickly expanded into bulk delivery and propane services. When the highway shifted, the truck stop moved with it remaining a steady presence until the late 1990’s. Leadership then was passed to the next generation, Brett’s Father. His Father carried the business forward preserving the values until 2014 when Brett and his wife Carly took over. Since stepping into their role, the company has expanded its fleet of trucks to deliver more. Not only have they continued to serve their customers through product delivery, but they also opened a card lock station in honor of his Grandfather to continue serving the small communities as he once did. With strong family values, they look forward to their son, Taygen, taking over one day as well to be the 4th generation of family ownership. 

Knotty Pine’s success can be attributed to their long-standing values in serving their communities with honesty and integrity. For the last 80 years, they operate with a simple, yet powerful belief: Treat others how you want to be treated. As they continue on, they remain dedicated to serving their communities with quality products day in and day out.
