New for this year, the 47x is a completely new re-design over the 4700 and other Western Star models.
The 47x has many industry leading features: The cab is constructed with lightweight aluminum, reinforced with steel in key structural areas to provide you with the ability to haul more products without sacrificing strength. Not only will you find the cab and chassis to be tough, but also the technology. The 47x now includes active break assist, adaptive cruise control, and standard heated mirrors. Paired with a windshield that is 28% larger than previous Western Star Models, the 47x is designed to keep not only the operator safe, but those on the road around you.
Built around operator safety, the 47x has been re-engineered with the driver in mind. Newly placed and more accessible grab handles are present throughout the cab, lower step-in height and improved step width and means added safety. All of these features are also packaged into the 47x that has received a facelift, with added LED output designed to fully illuminate the road and jobsite, including off to the sides of the vehicle, to reduce eye fatigue while letting operators detect objects sooner.
